7/19/2010 Update:

Well, guess what... the economy is lousy. I gave up my business a few years back because I really felt that I would have to work forever and never be able to retire unless I made some changes... soon.

So, I went to work for a company that makes automated dispensing equipment for pharmaceuticals in pharmacy environments. My job was to develop a new, non-robotic, system as an entry-level machine. It was fun. But, when the product went into production at the contract manufacturer, there was nothing left for me to do. So, I got laid-off... whoopie!

So much for the plan to stuff a pile of cash into a 401K.

But, then, I had an opportunity to work for Pfizer. Contract job. Develop new equipment concepts. Fun, too short. Company was too big for me, anyway.

Now, I am Engineering Manager for a company that makes production packaging equipment for the pharmaceutical industry. Worldwide customers, great team, great company, really nice location (New Bern, NC). Life is good, again.
